TravelAid is an Oxford-based charity set up and run by students, which creates partnerships between students and small, grassroots charities around the world. We aim to reach some of those most in need of support and to provide local solutions to various problems through local people. Students fundraise for the charity in teams and subsequently volunteer for up to six weeks.
TravelAid has long term partnerships with locally-led organisations operating in a number of the world's poorest communities. For example we continue to work with TEMI, a charity that cares for vulnerable adults in the Khaketi region of Georgia and our first partner organisation. Nonetheless TravelAid continues to grow; the past year has seen us set up two new projects, one in El Salvador and the other in Bangladesh.
