Please note that due to both political instability and the threat posed by terrorism we have continued to postpone this project. However, we continue to provide some financial support to our partner organisations and hope to return soon.

TravelAid has been running this project in conjunction with local partners, MNDHP and Foyer Tonton Gilles, since 2007.

In 2007, TravelAid volunteers ran the first summer school for Niamey-based students.  The school was such as a success that the number of attendees in 2008 doubled.  In 2007 TravelAid volunteers also funded the construction of a new classroom.  The 2008 team assisted Gilles at the Foyer, a home for street children, to set up a youth drop-in centre and library.
